Bio:
For over 20 years, Eric and Roger would get together to play some strings and throw back some beers. As their music progressed, Eric being a wordsmith, began to compose lyrics to go with the sounds they were creating. Eric would also come up with the basic chord progression, and if the song had a good feel, Roger would write his guitar part and the music was born.
The two of them started playing local gigs and were soon joined by their nephew, Todd Pennington on drums, who is featured on "Fractures In The Glass" CD. With the new dynamics, Roger moved from playing guitar to bass. Roger applied the open tunings he had been using on his 6 string guitar to his bass which created a new tonal dimension on the low end and contributes to the unique sound that is Foggiest Notion.
Soon after the "Fractures in the Glass" LP was released, the band took a break from performing as life was getting in the way. Following this hiatus, Roger and Eric reformed Foggiest Notion, minus a drummer. In early 2014, Roger and Eric met Mark Griffith and the music they created together was magic from the first jam session. Mark brought decades of experience in the music industry and had cut two CDs of his own: "The Three Rs" and "This Country Rocks". Mark had added yet another dimension with his versatile style on the lead guitar. They soon released Foggiest Notion's second CD, "2016".
After gigging, writing, and recording together for more than two years, they finally located a drummer that proved to be the perfect fit. With Chico Struck comes a long and diverse musical background.
At the beginning of 2017 Mark Griffith had to leave the band. It was hard for Mark to leave, and it was a great loss for the band as well.
As the search continued for a replacement for Mark, Foggiest Notion continued performing as a three piece band, playing all scheduled gigs. The search ended in July of 2017, as Foggiest Notion welcomed aboard, Jerry Mena on guitar. Jerry's background ranges from southern California, the Inland Northwest, and of course, southern Colorado.
